Why Does Tibico Ferment Whole Fruit?

Putting aside the potent probiotic content for this blog, one of the factors that makes Tibico unique, is our use of whole fruits, of which 70% are produced on local farms, and many organic..

Look on the labels of other water kefirs and kombucha's and how often will you read "natural flavourings and sweeteners". Both are laboratory produced and NOT friendly to our microbiome or internal metabolism.


So Why Does Tibico Ferment Whole Fruits?

The statement "the power is on the fruit skin" suggests that the skin of fruits is not only a protective layer but also a valuable source of nutrients and other beneficial compounds. Eating fruit skins can add fibre, vitamins, polyphenols, antioxidants, amino acids, and other nutrients to your diet. 

During our anaerobic fermentation the bacteria consume the fructose in the fruit leaving a probiotic sugar free fruit drink with all the benefits of the fruit.



  • Fermentation of fruits can significantly reduce pesticide residues.

Microorganisms, like yeast and bacteria, during fermentation degrade pesticides through enzymatic processes, effectively breaking them down into less harmful substances to negate the cost of using some organic fruits.
