ACID REFLUX or GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease)

We are asked every day about ACID REFLUX.

Sometimes referred to as HEARTBURN, GERD affects millions of people every day.

We also have many customers who have drank TIBICO WATER KEFIR and experienced an almost overnight improvement of how they feel.

The main problem is that people accept ACID REFLUX as a lifestyle ailment and just keep taking the antacid tablets or stronger prescriptions.

SO WHAT CAUSES MOST CASES OF ACID REFLUX ?

Many things can trigger heartburn. The most common cause is food that's acidic or high in fat—like citrus fruits, tomatoes, onions, chocolate, coffee, cheese, and peppermint. Spicy foods or large meals can also be the root of distress.

Other sources of heartburn include aspirin or ibuprofen, as well as some sedatives and blood pressure medications. Tobacco in cigarettes is known to affect LES lower esophageal sphincter function too; cigarette smoking relaxes the muscle, which can result in heartburn.

Being overweight or pregnant can also trigger heartburn due to added pressure on the abdomen and stomach.

BAD STOMACH BACTERIA

Helicobacter pylori better known as H. Pylori infection represents one of the most common and medically prominent infections worldwide.

Besides continual irritation created by acid reflux, H pylori is a risk factor for the development of peptic ulcers and stress.

The most used probiotic bacteria are Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Probiotics could improve H pylori eradication and reduce side effects.
